The 2013 winners were announced live at the Grand Theatre during the Grand Designs Live exhibition at the Excel centre in London’s Docklands last May. In this brand-new format, the winners joined Kevin McCloud and his fellow judges for a light and informative Q&A session in front of a 500-strong audience. Winners got the chance to talk about the highs and lows of their project, the inspiration behind it, their best bits, (and worst bits), giving the audience a real insight to their grand design journey and their winning home. The packed crowd were treated to unseen images and exclusive insights to the UK’s very best projects, during Kevin McCloud’s engaging hour-long presentation.
