The site extends in total to approximately 0.18 hectares (0.44 acres), is gently south facing and enjoys a panoramic rural outlook. The western half has been used as a treatment works since the 1950s and the site was expanded during the 1970s when the eastern half was acquired. It includes: (i) a 100 metre long, 4 metre wide, surfaced access road, which is bounded on its east side by a stone wall and on its west side by a concrete post and wire fence and (ii) an irregularly shaped area of ground extending to approximately 0.14 hectares, which is largely bounded by a 2 metre high chain link security fence, on the inside of which is a mature cypress hedge that has not been managed and its branches have pushed through and now overhang the fence. Within the site, the former wastewater treatment structures that remain include a small storage shed, two circular settlement tanks and a glass fibre tank.
