To begin with today, I've got a rather charming little one bedroom end of terrace property for you in Somerset.  Often it tends to be the big spacious family homes that I'll share with you on our blog at UKAL, but once in a while I'm reminded that good things really do come in small packages.

This is a lovely little cottage, and while it's one bedroom means it's not suited to the expanding family, it is however perfect for grandparents, and also parents of grown up kids whom have flown the next. While there's only that single bedroom within, this one has a very handy detached studio room tucked away at the bottom of the garden that is absolutely ideal accommodation for visiting loved ones!

Now, on to the interior... this one may be compact, but it's not at all cramped, and the rooms are good sized. There's a wonderful feature fireplace in the living room, a pretty wood burning stove with large stone surround, and you'll discover many more fab features throughout this cottage. I also spotted another of my favourite features in that living room... the slate flooring, which adds as much character to the room as the wood burning stove does warmth on those colder evenings.

As for the exterior? Well it's not just that handy studio room this garden has to offer. Being very much in keeping with the style of building, there's a lovely cottage garden awaiting you when you step out the door, with attractive quirks of it's own such as a paved sun terrace and feature pond.

So, given that this one has a fairly neutral interior, is enhanced by those wonderful features both inside and out, and comes with that incredibly handy separate studio accommodation, this property has loads more to offer than you would normally expect from a little one bedroom cottage.

I really like this one and on auction day I doubt I'll be the only one. This is an ideal property for those owner occupiers out there who seek a more compact sized home for themselves, that's still able to accommodate those visiting loved ones... and that well established country garden is simply the icing on the cake! :-)

Right, this next property doesn't have the advantage of those interior images... but there is something so endearing about that charming exterior that caught my eye and drew me in nonetheless. It's  a 2 bedroom property in Worcestershire, that's ripe for renovation though, so whatever the interior appears as now, it wouldn't be the end result. What we do have in abundance though, is plenty of little hints alluding to what awaits you inside, and I'm liking what I'm hearing!

One of my favourite features in homes like these are the wonderful open fireplaces often found in the living room, and this property doesn't disappoint in those regards! There's also parquet flooring and other lovely features and quirks inside, and looking out from within you are surrounded on all sides by stunning views across unspoilt rolling countryside. Step outside and there is 2.4 acres of land, with useful timber outbuildings, and backing onto woodland.

I have a really good feeling about this one, and feel it will appeal in equal measure to both investors looking to take care of the renovation then sell on for profit, and owner occupiers not afraid to get their hands dirty, take on a renovation project, and have the benefit of being able to really make this one their own.
