Auction House London sold the highest number of properties in a single auction this month on Wednesday 8 December – its last sale of 2021.

Auctioneer and Director of Auction House London, Andrew Binstock says: “This was an epic sale and our strongest auction since the pandemic began. There was some fast and furious bidding by many buyers on a number of Lots by people who have really embraced livestream sales. This style of sale has revolutionised the way we do our auctions and I cannot see a return to a room only auction model.”

Any Lot with potential to add value always fires the imagination of buyers, and this property in Nightingale Lane, Hornsey was just one example where a home with a possible building plot to one side sold well above it’s reserve and guide price of £475,000. The livestream hammer came down at £666,000.

An end terrace in Cavendish Road, Edmonton, north London, also ticked boxes for buyers looking for potential. No planning is in place, but the property is in a great location near Kenninghall open space and the newly opened Meridian Water station. The guide was £200,000 before it sold at almost double this at £391,500.

Andrew Binstock continued: “We started off ahead of the curve by launching our livestream sales as soon as we could, once in the first lockdown of 2020. It was a gamble which paid off and our sales have just gone from strength to strength.

“2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for people wanting to buy and sell at auction. Auction House London is now taking entries for its next livestream sale taking place on Wednesday 9 February 2022.”
