Pair of neighbouring homes in East Midlands priced as low as £24,000 each

Bargain hunters in the East Midlands will be competing to buy neighbouring homes priced as low as £24,000 each in Bond Wolfe Auction’s remote bidding auction next week.

The auction on Wednesday 29 July will be the largest to be held in the Midlands and starts at the earlier time of 9am to accommodate the 177 lots, with potential buyers bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only.

The two lots (pictured above) that will catch the eyes of landlords seeking to extend their portfolios are the two-bedroomed, end terraced houses adjacent to each other at 195 and 197 Mansfield Road in Skegby, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Both properties are said to need refurbishment, but with each having a guide price of £24,000 to £29,000 they are certain to have lots of attention from bidders.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive at Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “These homes are typical examples of some of the great prices to be found at auctions, but the fact they are neighbouring properties makes them even more enticing.

“They do need some work but for the right purchaser this could become a focused project where because the investments and works needed are so close together it really pays off.”

Another attractive guide price is attached to a three-bedroomed, end-terraced house at 6 Bainbridge Terrace in Huthwaite, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Once again, this property needs modernisation, but with a guide price of just £20,000+ it’s one that many bidders will be looking at.

Down the road at 8 Wilson Street in the Pinxton area of Nottingham is another three-bedroomed, terraced property needing modernisation, although it’s also likely to be popular with a guide price of £25,000+.

There are more bargains to be had over in Coalville, Leicestershire, where three-bedroomed, mid-terraced houses at 131 Belvoir Road and 10 St Saviours Road are both in need of modernisation but have guide process of just £40,000 each.

Meanwhile, a two-bedroomed, mid-terraced house at 81 Ashby Road in Moira, Swadlincote, Derbyshire that also needs modernisation has an attractive guide price of £30,000+.

Mr Bassi said: “These lots across the East Midlands are all mini-projects, but they could make the perfect purchase for buyers who don’t mind a challenge in return for the right price.”
