Neighbouring cottages in rural Leicestershire for auction

A pair of cosy cottages next door to each other in rural Leicestershire are appearing in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next auction in Birmingham on Tuesday 10 September.

The auction will be the largest seen in the Midlands this year, with 140 lots going under the hammer.

Lilac Cottage and Rose Cottage are both two-bedroomed, terraced properties at 40 and 42 Hinckley Road in Burbage village near Hinckley.

Both lots have gas central heating and UPVC double glazing and each have guide prices of just £50,000+, which reflect the need for improvement works.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “These are lovely cottages that stand back from the road with driveways and front and rear gardens, and they are within easy walking distance of the village centre.

“While they both need some tender love and renovation, they could each make great first homes or investments for future rental use, and we expect stiff competition for them from keen bidders.”

Other Leicestershire properties up for auction include a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house on a corner plot at 3 Burnside Road (pictureed below), about four miles south of Leicester city centre, with a guide price of £50,000+.

This has a driveway with a car port, rear garage and gardens, and benefits from gas central heating and double glazing, although it needs modernisation.

Another three-bedroomed, semi-detached house going under the hammer is at 3 Charnwood Road in Barwell village, to the west of Leicester, also with a guide price of £50,000+.

This property has a driveway, gardens, gas central heating and double glazing, and is close to local schools and shops.

Over in Loughborough, a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 148 Cossington Road in Sileby, on the outskirts of the sought-after village of Charnwood, has a guide price of £75,000+.

This property needs refurbishment, although it may also be suitable for development at the rear, subject to planning permission.

These Leicestershire properties are just some of the 140 lots going under the hammer in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale on Tuesday 10th September at 10.30am at the regular venue of the Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC.
