West Midlands Police has put three of its former police stations up for sale in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next auction at Villa Park on Tuesday 10 September.

The spacious properties in Birmingham and the Black Country are all freehold and are considered suitable for a variety of uses, subject to planning permission.

Ian Tudor, managing director of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “I have a longstanding working relationship with West Midlands Police and I am delighted to be instructed on these three cracking opportunities.”

Exhibit number one: a Victorian building that used to be Darlaston Police Station at 1 Crescent Road in Darlaston, with a guide price of £250,000+.

The three-storey property of approximately 7,717 sq ft has offices and meeting rooms on the ground floor, including the original custody suite.

There are more offices on the first and second floors, useful storage space in the basement, and a gated rear yard with around 25 secure car parking spaces.

Mr Tudor said: “This stunning building was built back in 1899 and has a range of ornate Victorian features and railings to the frontage.

Exhibit number two: the former Handsworth West Police Station at 61-65 Holyhead Road in Handsworth, with a guide price of £500,000+.

This lot is made up of a detached, two-storey 1930s building together with a pair of former semi-detached houses which were recently used as extra offices and are connected on the first floor.

There is car parking at the front and rear, plus garages and storage buildings to the rear of the property, which extends to approximately 6,446 sq ft.

Exhibit number three: the former Tettenhall Police Station at 30 High Street, in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, with a guide price of £250,000+.

This lot is a two-storey, detached 1970s building containing offices and meeting rooms, with a separate store and garage at the rear, along with useful gated yard for parking.

Mr Tudor added: “This property of approximately 2,282 sq ft fronts the western side of the High Street within the affluent suburban village of Tettenhall, around 2.5 miles north west of Wolverhampton city centre.

The three properties will all appear in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale on Tuesday 10 September at 10.30am at the regular venue of the Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC.

Bond Wolfe Auctions has already this year offered 350 lots, more than any other auctioneer in Birmingham.  This includes properties across the East and West Midlands and as far afield as Wales and Scotland.

The first three auctions have raised nearly £39 million in sales – more than double its nearest competitor.
