Guide price of just £5k for family home in Birmingham

A family home in a popular Birmingham suburb has been given a guide price of just £5,000 in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next auction at Villa Park in Birmingham on Wednesday 11 December.

The three-bedroomed, mid-terraced property at 16 Dunstall Grove in Selly Oak has been described as “in need of modernisation”.

However, with a driveway, front and back gardens, gas-fired central heating system and partial double glazing, strong competition is expected for this lot.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “This family-sized home lies in a great location and it could be one of the bargain finds of the year for the right buyer.

“Selly Oak is a vibrant suburb that’s highly desirable both for young families and students at the nearby Birmingham University, and there are great road and rail links with the city centre.

“The property obviously needs some tender love, care and attention, but it’s an ideal project for first home buyers or for landlords keen on expanding their portfolio.”

Mr Bassi added: “This is a great little lot with a guide price of just £5,000+ that will catch the eye of potential owners, and we expect strong bidding for it on the day.”

The family home will be just one of more than 140 lots going under the hammer in Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale at 10.30am on Wednesday 11 December at the regular venue of the Holte Suite at Aston Villa FC.

Bond Wolfe Auctions, which launched in January this year, has so far sold 503 lots out of 592 offered and raised over £66.2 million with an average success rate of 85% – comfortably making it the West Midlands’ leading auctioneer.
