Five homes with a guide price of less than £30,000

Property affordability is never far from the headlines so you may be surprised to hear that five homes are going under the hammer next month with a guide price of less than £30,000.

The terraced houses – four in County Durham and one in Grimsby – are due to be sold by SDL Auctions Bigwood at its Birmingham auction on Thursday 12 September and are among 87 lots featured in the latest catalogue from the largest and most successful auctioneer in the West Midlands.

Four of the homes are currently let to tenants. They are:

108 Oxford Road, Hartlepool

With a guide price of £22,000+, this two bedroomed mid-terraced property has a living room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, with two bedrooms upstairs. Outside is a rear yard. The property, which is close to shops, amenities, green spaces and transport links, is currently let, realising an annual income of £5,720.

11 Vincent Street, Peterlee

7 Charterhouse Street, Hartlepool

It produces an annual rental income of £5,720.

The fifth property within this price bracket is vacant and can be found at 8 Hargrave Street, Grimsby, with a guide price of £27,000+. The mid-terrace property has two reception rooms, a kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, with three bedrooms upstairs. It has gas-fired central heating and double glazing. Vejay Pal, head of auctions West Midlands at SDL Auctions Bigwood, said: “What a great selection of properties – and with extremely attractive guide prices, too. If you’re looking to invest in the north-east, this is an instant portfolio just waiting to be purchased, with tenants already occupying most of them.

“The long-term future looks good for these properties, too, with all of them being close to amenities, parks and transport links, so having everything that both tenants and homebuyers are looking for.”
