Auction House launches brand new branch in Kent

Auction House – already the largest property auctioneer in the UK – is opening a brand new branch in Kent, with its inaugural auction scheduled for 27th of February.

Auction House Kent Managing Director Andrew Stallard said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the Auction House success story to the garden of England. Kent has long been on the group’s list of targets, and we will be serving the patch from our offices in the county town of Maidstone. We’re looking forward to providing the area with the type of innovative, dynamic and proactive auction service that it so richly deserves.”

Auction House has seen amazing growth since its inception in 2007, and is now the UK’s largest auctioneer and second largest commercial property auctioneer, selling over 30,000 lots in its 12 year history. 2019 was its most successful year ever, when it became the only auctioneer to sell over 3,800 lots, winning the Gold Award as Residential Auction Service of the Year at The Negotiator Awards in London.

Andrew Stallard added: “We’ve have seen a growing appetite for room auctions amongst both sellers and buyers, who are attracted by the speed and certainty they offer. They like that fact that the sale is legally agreed as soon as the hammer falls – and nowhere else can you get a house from appraisal to exchange in as little as four weeks!

“Similarly, buyers tend to like what we do – partly because of the sheer excitement of the live auction room, but also because they know that every sale provides the opportunity to snap up a real bargain!”

Auction House Kent will operate from its headquarters in Albion Place, Maidstone, and carry out seven sales a year, starting on the 27th of February at the Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel on the Ashford Road, at 7pm.

Andrew Stallard says it’s a popular misconception that properties have to be in a terrible condition in order to be auctioned. He explained: “The truth is that a wide variety of properties are suitable for sale by auction. Whilst it’s true to say that the most popular property type tends to be houses and flats for improvement, the fact is that tenanted properties, land, mixed-use, vacant or occupied commercial lots, and properties being sold as investments tend to sell well at auction too.

“So in preparation for our launch, we are building our network of partner agents in the county, who are introducing properties to us from across the region. Our sales staff live in the county and are already familiar with the area, and we have high hopes for the success of our first sale next month.

“In short, if you want to buy or sell a property by auction in Kent, and are looking for superb local knowledge, excellent regional coverage and the phenomenal marketing power of a national brand, then Auction House is a natural choice.”
