Tuesday's Top Hot Picks!

Okay, so our first one today is actually one on the Isle of Wight for the builders and developers out there! This one particularly caught my attention due to it being one of the last remaining undeveloped plots in the area. It's not too often we hear that, so I took a closer look to find out a little more...

It turns out that the site is currently occupied by a former warehouse. I always feel a little sad to see what would once have been an iconic part of the local skyline, ending up a derelict and overgrown site, but at least this one has been lined up for a major facelift and whole new lease of life!

The shell of the warehouse is rather striking in appearance and I can see the attraction in keeping a lot of that charm... the planning permission which has been granted is for only part demolition, and incorporating the rest in a residential development which will convert that fantastic shell into 21 residential units.

By the time all the landscaping goes in as well it's going to be a fabulous transformation, and this building will once again become an iconic part of that local skyline. Given the location so near the town centre, river and harbour, those residential units will surely be snapped up in no time!! :-)

Next we have the proof that great things really do come in small packages, or in this case small catalogues! Tucked away amidst a group of 3 land lots, I happened across a really quite remarkable smallholding with 2 bed barn conversion. Situated near Maidstone, Kent, amongst orchards and pasture land extending to 8.29 acres, this property also comes with a rather extensive range of outbuildings as well.

We're really quite spoiled with this one, as it's got a fabulous range of both internal and external images that cover a very wide range of features. I could potentially talk at considerable length on this one since there is so much information and detail packed into the catalogue, but I think with this one you really do have to see it for yourself. If I abbreviated this one down to fit the space I have here I really would do it an injustice.

But you don't just need to take my word for it on just how many amazing things this one has packed in there... you can always pop over to have a look for yourself. And if you're not quite convinced yet? Hey, they have one lounge with what may be a full sized snooker table in there (it's big whatever the dimensions are) and it's still got room to spare!! Oh, and the garden really needs to be seen to be believed! It's a wonderful property that's full of fab surprises at every turn :-)

And finally, the last property I have for you today is located in Devon and although a pretty big restoration job, there is something completely enchanting about this property. It is believed to have once been a 5 bedroom Millers House. As with the house, the original Corn Mill with its water wheel will need full refurbishment too. The other buildings that form part of this property are more dilapidated.

But it's certainly not all doom and gloom with this one, the central stream and remains of the original mill leat still run through the land, making reconnection of the water from the stream a very real possibility along with the other restoration works. Yes, the work needed is extensive, but wow, there is something quite magical about this property. It would be quite the charming character property once it gets the love and attention it has clearly not had in quite some time. I do hope to someday see this one restored to its former glory :-)
