SDL Bigwood’s Coventry auctions off to a flying start

SDL Bigwood’s first Coventry auction got off to a flying start at the Village Hotel, Dolomite Avenue, Coventry, as eager buyers turned up for the city’s largest-ever auction sale.

A packed salesroom resulted in a hugely successful auction which raised £1,893,500 with a success rate of 88 per cent.

Notably, every single Coventry-based lot sold.

Gurpreet Bassi, auctions partner at SDL Bigwood, now the UK’s fourth largest auction house, said: “We were delighted with the result of our first Coventry sale and it was a fantastic achievement by the entire auctions team at SDL Bigwood.”

Highlights included lot 8, a part vacant, part investment residential property at 18 Albany Road, Earlsdon, Coventry, which has been converted into seven apartments, with two of the seven currently let, producing a current gross income of £8,400. However, with all seven apartments let, a potential gross income of £29,400 could be achieved.

It sold for £330,000 off a guide of £235,000.

20 Peel Street, Coventry, sold for £82,500 off a guide of £65,000, 65 Park Lane, Wednesbury, £134,000 off £65,000, and 38 Upper St Marys Road, Bearwood, £130,000 off £90,000.
