Interest is high in low rise auction lots

SDL Graham Penny is experiencing higher than normal demand for the bungalows going under the hammer in its next Leicester auction (tomorrow), in line with recent national property figures.

Recent figures from the National House Building Council show that only one in 63 new homes built in the past 12 months was a bungalow, a trend which is leading to higher demand for the house type as auctioneer and managing director at SDL Graham Penny, Andrew Parker explains:

“There is always some level of interest for bungalows in our auction rooms, however we’ve definitely seen an increase in the past few months. Buyers have more confidence in coming to the auction room to buy a bungalow, and in many cases are still living in another property and plan to renovate the new purchase before moving in.”

There are two bungalows in Leicestershire set to sell in the auction room on Thursday 11st August. 1 Seagrave Drive in Oadby is a three-four bedroomed bungalow has undergone modernisation but does require some finishing touches and has a *guide price of £200,000+ while Clovelly on Merrylees Road in Coalville is a two bedroomed detached bungalow in around half an acre of gardens which offers the potential for demolition and redevelopment and has a guide price of £295,000+.
