Former Army Barracks Sold At Paul Fosh Auction

The historic site of the former Pentre Barracks in Rhondda has been sold at auction for a second time in less than a year, with the winning phone bid of £185,000 far exceeding the initial guide price of £135,000. ]

The property, accessed across a single track railway line,  includes an array of accommodation including a caretaker’s, various dormitories, garages, drill hall, former armoury, four single storey buildings which includes a classroom,  rifle range and storage unit.

Paul Fosh of Paul Fosh Auctions, the auctioneers who sold off the site to a private buyer, said “The barracks would be ideal for a number of uses including outdoor pursuit centre, hotel, bed and breakfast, industrial unit storage or scope for residential all subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents.”

The auction, which offered a total of 72 lots realised a total of £3,787,250 from the sale of fifty properties.
