Bids from all angles at latest Leicester auction

SDL Graham Penny held another successful auction at the King Power Stadium last week with bids coming in from the auction room, on the phone, by proxy and via the internet.

The auction, on Thursday 29th September, saw a catalogue of 21 residential property, commercial property and land lots offered with more than £1.6m raised in sales on the day.

Andrew Parker, auctioneer and managing director, commented: “Interest had been high for several of the lots in this auction and that was clear in the auction room as multiple bidders were lobbying to get their bid recognised.

“We had a number of bidders registered online and clicking in real-time to bid, others were on the phone in the room, I had a handful of pre-registered proxy bids to place, plus there was a busy auction room of people in front of me. It made for an exciting auction room with lots of competitive bidding; a true demonstration of the power of property auctions.”

Amongst the lots selling well in the auction room where:

36 Millfield Close in Ashby de la Zouch – a three bedroomed semi-detached house which requires modernisation and would make a great family home or buy to let investment. It sold for £143,000 from a *guide price of £125,000+.

34 Sybil Road in Rowley Fields – a three bedroomed semi-detached house in need of modernisation and with scope for extension which sold for £170,500 from a guide price of £135,000+.

A single garage at Denis Close in Western Park which sold for £4,800 from a guide price of £3,500.

56 Leicester Road in Kibworth – a one bedroomed Victorian cottage which would make a great buy to let investment or first time purchase. It sold for £95,500 from a guide price of £85,000+.

Since inception in 2006, SDL Graham Penny has sold more than 5,000 lots across the East Midlands and raised over £500m for clients. Formerly Graham Penny Auctions, it joined the SDL Group in early 2016, making the SDL Auctions network the fourth largest in the UK and the biggest outside of London.

Andrew added: “We are now inviting entries for our final Leicester auction of the year. Anyone looking to sell can receive a free auction appraisal where we’ll discuss with you the likely sale price, timescales and costs involved.”
