Auction House Scotland expansion

On August 22nd, Auction House Scotland will hold its first auction in Aberdeen, with properties for sale across the Highlands and Islands and Grampian area.

Since launching in Glasgow a year ago, Auction House Scotland has raised £11.5 million for our vendors. Their conversion rate is sitting at 70% of lots sold – which they’re pretty pleased with!

They have an auction every seven weeks or so, with an increasing number of properties coming from the Highlands and Islands area. WThey’ve realised that the time has come to service this area with an auction room closer to home – and so have chosen the Park Inn by Radisson as our first auction venue outside the central belt.

They’re looking forward to welcoming a great crowd of potential buyers – developers, investors, landlords and members of the general public. The property market is fierce in Aberdeen, so they hope people will see their first auction as an interesting alternative to buying through an estate agent.

It’s quicker for one thing – people generally take ownership in 14-28 days. It’s also simpler – when the gavel falls, the sale is final – no waiting around for closing dates and no complications in the sales process (typically 30% of sales through traditional methods fall through).

And of course, it’s also good fun – if you’ve ever watched “Homes Under the Hammer” you’ll know that people get a real buzz out of bidding and winning at auction.
